When does the recreational season start?
The season begins in June and runs through the Begining of August. Official practice starts after drafts are completed.

How much does it cost?
Cost is $135.00 per child for a resident of Cooper City and $165.00 for non resident.

When is registration?
Registration will start in May.

How do I register?
Online registration starts on Saturday, April 25th and then bring the printed receipt to the Cooper City Optimist. Dates TBD where you will pay the fee and select your uniform size.

How many player per team?

Depentding on age group teams will have 6 to 8 players. U10 and U12 will play with 6 players on the court. U14 and up will play with 4 players on the court 

The plan is to have the U10, Seniors and adults leage as COED and the U12 and U14 as separate. Depending on the number of registations all divisions may be coed.

What information do I need to bring with me?
If this is your first time registering with any optimist sports, you will need your child’s birth certificate, your driver license and a utility bill (water bill).

How old does my child have to be to play?
The player must be born between September 1, 2007 through  1900.  

Where are the games played?
The games are played at the Cooper City Sports complex  on the soon to be built sand courts.


When will the games be played?
One game is played during the week and one on Saturday.

When will we know the game schedule?
Schedules will be posted on the web site by June 20.

How often is practice?
Practice is at the discretion of the coach. All coaches are volunteers and some have more time available than others.

When will we receive our uniform?
The coach will hand out the uniforms before the first game. Uniforms are included in the registration fee and consist of a jersey.

What player equipment do I need to supply?
Your child will need to bring liquid hydration. Optional equipment; sunglases and a towel

How will player be placed on a team?
All teams are formed in a draft. The coach will contact you after the division draft. The only players guaranteed to play together are those of the coach, assistant coach.

Adults:

Adults may bring their own team, others will be placed on a team. Adult leagues may be extended to additional seasons.

 


All new non Cooper City resident applications will be subject to wait-list placement. Cooper City residents will be placed first, followed by rerturning non-residents. If space is available new non-residents will be placed on a team.
